We looked over 15 Original RedFins and decided on this one. We curated this specific Board because Mike shaped it himself, and this one proved to be the best rider out of all of the boards we considered using for a scan.
This is the 1st time we have made this Model using Mike's name in decades. All royalty proceeds go to Mike's family. We're beyond stoked to build these boards and share Mike's legacy with Surfers today.
Built true to the specs of the Original, this board is constructed with 10oz Volan glass, and the Fin is routed into the stringer of the board just as they were back in the day.
The Board also features Custom Mike Hynson G&S RedFin logos, no option for leash attachment, triple Redwood stringers, and a beautiful solid red Fin.

Designed by Mike Hynson for G&S in 1965, the RedFin became one of the most popular models of the Signature Era that spawned the "RedFin Army", that included surfers such as Skip Frye, Billy Hamilton, Barry Kanaiapuni and Butch Vanartsdalen to name a few.
