- Wave Type: Ideal for sloppy to average waist to head high conditions but can also handle larger / steeper conditions depending on the surfer's experience.
- Description: The Squid is a complete revamp of our 1st Generation Twin Fin from 1971. An Oz influenced model that was very popular, but faded away within a year due to improper fin templates and placement of the era. We kept the original template, but modernized the bottom contours and fin system. A compact volume board similar to the Fish, The Squid offers a "Skatey-er" feel on top of the water with plenty of pivot and snap in turns without losing drive.

G&S HEAD SHAPER: CHRIS DARBY

Chris Darby is our Head Shaper, He has been part of the G&S Family of Shapers for over 20 years and over the past few years has worked with Eric Gordon on the most popular G&S models of the 60's and 70's by modernizing the foils, rockers, rails, transforming them ito sleek renditions that are relevant today while still incorporating a firm nod to the past design, keeping their initial purpose and "Soul" intact. He is the shaper of choice for Most of the boards in our extensive Catalog.
Chris knows how to shape a better board that makes a better surfer every time. His shapes stand tall when compared to any of the best shapers out there.
Chris has been shaping for G&S since the early 2000's, and got his inspiration to shape from watching Larry Gordon shape through the 90's. Chris's attention to detail, great patience and his skills as a good listener, have many happy customers that keep wanting another from his capable hands. He is a genius when it comes to surfboard shaping and custom design but is so under the radar that he is the best kept secret in San Diego and we are so lucky to have him all to ourselves here at G&S.
Meet Isaac Wood, G&S Shaper:
Isaac Wood is multitalented and has been on the G&S Surf Team since the 90's and has moved into the Shaping Realm with his own line up of Models.
Isaac has worked for years to refine His IW Log. IW Perfect Pin, New HYPRO 2+1 and Newest "EVERYDAY Model. He only shapes these specific shapes and does them well. We are stoked to have Isaac in the Shaping Bay here at G&S when hes not surfing!

Hank Warner
Hank's been shaping since 1967 when he started working on surfboards with Billy Caster and then with G&S for years. Hank's specialty is EVERYTHING. He has shaped more than 25,000 surfboards, many of those under the G&S label. Hank has traveled the world to surf and shape custom surfboards in Australia, New Zealand, England, Spain, the entire Coastal USA, Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

CADE DOHERTY
Cade is our youngest and latest addition to the G&S Shaping Bay. Cade's interests lie in Shaping unique models from the past, refining and throwing his style into the details. The models he is working on are The Hazelwood, The Surf Scene (SS Model), The Summer Wing and more.
He brings an energy and enthusiasm to our Shaping Bay with a reverence for surf history and design philosophy. We couldn't be more excited to give him the opportunity for him to hone his craft, here at G&S where we focus on collaborative design.
